Several of us met on October 17 to discuss how we felt about the war between Israel and Palestine. It was a space for connecting as kindred spirits about a heartbreakingly difficult situation. We decided to have another gathering, on November 19, at a time convenient to people from other time zones. You are invited to join us on November 19 at 1:15 pm New York time for a 90-minute Zoom group.
Here are some of the words that participants used to describe our October 17 group. Please note that my intention in sharing these comments is not to say “Hey, this event got good reviews.” It is to share what people who liked it appreciated in it, so that you can see whether is of interest to you:
– “a tangible support offering what we can with trust for a better world”
– “To say that our gathering felt like a salve to my aching heart doesn’t quite hold the depth of my gratitude for your collective presence (both in your participation and your interest). It seemed to me that we co-created a safe and spacious container. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your felt senses and offering life-forwarding resonances.”
– “I would say the group for me was like filling in pieces of a larger whole when I heard others speak, like they were putting into words what I also resonate with but haven’t found the words for yet.
“I also really appreciate how one or two people would reflect back to others not only what was heard but also how it resonated in and touched the listener.
“There is so much that feels horrifying and overwhelming about what is happening in the Palestine/Israel massively destructive conflict, it can feel very lonesome to be alone with it all. I notice there is a power in listening and speaking about the unspeakable together. What is hard to hold alone, becomes held in a larger resonant togetherness.
Because of our group conversation, I feel a little the warmth of a small wave of the grace of human connection.”
